Computed radiography (CR) and Digital radiography(DR)
Digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR) are filiations of classic film radiography, which use a non-film detecting media. Some elements of RT systems are supplied by modern technology. Therefore it is possible to obtain an image in digital format and use common digital tools to improve image quality. As well as RT, DR and CR testing is capable to obtain an image of internal imperfection. Possibilities of classic radiography are comparable with DR and CR. Due to great exposure width the digital technique is suitable for examination of difficult shaped parts and also corrosion measuring.
Due to manifested time and cost savings these modifications are very perspective.
Suitable alternative to the computed and digital radiography is the Radioscopy:
Radioscopy (RS)
Physical background
Digital and computed radiography supplied NDT film by another detector, which allows to transfer the profile of the subjective contrast into visible image contrast in digital form. The creation or the subjective contrast profile is done by the same mechanism, as in case of film radiography or radioscopy.
